Icicles

Hang these icicles on the tree
and let them shimmer gracefully
among the lights and decorations,
adding to the fascination
we all feel this time of year —
the Christmas season's finally here!

Greeting cards and special wishes,
bakedgoods placed on Christmas dishes,
festive tables heaped with food,
decorations brightly hued,
presents tied up with a bow
for special people that we know.

The spirit of Christmas is very real.
The love within our hearts we feel
for every friend and relative,
no matter where it is they live,
inspires the memories we hold dear
and stays with us throughout the year.
