Tree Trunk Santa

To make these santas, you can see,
I use the wood from timeworn trees.
I find it lying on the ground,
each fallen tree a treasure found.

I cut it into pleasing shapes
then look to find the hidden face.
(It’s always there within each piece,
waiting quietly to be released.)

With special care I sculpt each face.
His nose, his beard, his quiet grace.
Each one refined with great detail,
each personality prevails!

And when he's done, and sealed, and dried,
the finishing touches all applied,
then you can take this Santa home -
a Christmas treasure all your own!
